Adult General Education You can complete courses, improve your language skills, and work towards a secondary school diploma. This is referred to as General Education. New Jersey Adult Education. The New Jersey Department of Education’s (NJDOE) mission is to serve the needs of adult learners and youth (aged 16 and over) in attaining their state-issued high-school diploma in order to achieve their educational, career and personal goals.
The Adult General Education Programs at Lindsey Hopkins Technical College are designed specifically to help you strengthen their foundational skills, and get you ready for a career of your choice, or to enter college. We can also prepare you to learn English as a second language, earn your GED®, and build technical skills through hands-on. General education courses also afford students the opportunity of expanding their chosen field of study to gain an emphasis in a related aspect of their chosen majors. For example an English Major can take some great in-depth general education classes on poetry. Or an Engineering Major could take general education courses on bio-mechanics.
